“In my humble opinion” pattern for sale
I have created the cutting pattern and full photographic instructions for making this automaton.
The mechanism makes an excellent starting point for many other automata of your own design just by changing the cams of including more gears.
The gear set-up is the one that I use in most of my automata.
See the bottom of the page for examples that other people shave made and also derivative automata that have been made using the plans as a base.
Photographs of all stages are included for simple construction.

You can make this automata. It could be made with hand tools but a bandsaw or scroll saw would make things easier.
PATTERNS and INSTRUCTIONS
I have written a 31 page instruction and full size pattern book for this automaton.
I have also made a Youtube video of the construction.
The project is suitable for beginners with a little patience. It would be possible to make it with hand tools but I recommend that you have access at least a scroll saw (or bandsaw) and a power drill.
The instructions contain full assembly details with 87 photographs and illustrations. The patterns are full size.
