Too shy to introduce himself he glances at her and slowly turns to look but turns away quickly when she looks at him, nervously scratching his nose. She returns to reading her journal.

This automaton has an oak plinth. The people are carved from lime wood and the mechanism is beech wood with brass fittings. Nylon bushes are fitted to the axles for smooth running.The people's bodies are painted with gesso followed by acrylic paint, 2 coats of acrylic varnish and finished with a coat of matt varnish. The heads are natural wood finished with acrylic varnish and matt finish.
8 cams drive the left and right arm on the man and also turn his head and move his eyes. On the lady cams move the arms, head, eyes and also simulate breathing.
The mechanism is finished with acrylic varnish.
Size, 30cms x 17.5cms x 12cms. (12 x 7 x 5 inches.)
